A Simple Project

Our son, Brandon, is moving into a really nice condo this weekend, which is very close to the lake in town. The house that he has been in for the last 2 years is pretty old, run down, dirty and just not very nice.

While moving his furniture, it became apparent that he did not have a dining room table.
Knowing that his dad is an excellent furniture maker, they decided that it would really easy to make a simple dining room table for this new condo.

Well, you can guess what happened. There is no such thing as simple when it comes to furniture making with those two. What started as a piece of Birch plywood is now a Gathering table with a nice piece of marble inset in the center, walnut inlay around the marble and as an edge. Each corner piece has been precisely cut so that the grain in going out from the marble.

Here is a look at the mable inset

This is a look at the leg material that was actually milled from Brandon's Uncle Rick.

So, what started out as a simple project is now getting more and more complicated.
Will post more pictures as they are progressing along.
